If you are the spouse of an Active Duty Service Member, you may be eligible for up to $4,000 of Financial Assistance from the Department of Defense. This scholarship grant is meant to encourage spouses of military personnel to pursue education, training, licenses, certificates and degrees leading to employment in Portable Career fields. MedCerts offers MyCAA Approved programs, all of which can be accessed anywhere, anytime. We specialize in certification programs leading to jobs that are in-demand and portable, both of which are important to military families.

Requirements and Eligibility

If eligible, you can take one of the MedCerts Dual Certification training programs with no out-of-pocket expenses.

You are eliGible for MyCAA if

You are Not eligible for MyCAA if

Spouse of a service member on active duty

Spouse married to service members in pay grades: E-6 and above; W-3 and above; and O-3 and above

Service member is in the pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2

Spouse is himself or herself an active member of the armed forces on Title 10 orders

Spouse must complete coursework while his or her military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders as reported in DEERS

Spouse is married but legally separated (or under court order or statute of any state or US territory) from a member of the armed forces on Title 10 order

Spouse married to a member of the National Guard and Reserve Components in these same pay grades is also eligible

Spouse is married to a National Guard/Reserve Component military sponsor on Warning Orders/Alert, Post Deployment/Demobilization, or Transition Status

Spouse is married to a member of the National Guard

Spouse is unable to start and complete coursework while his or her military sponsor is on Title 10 orders

How to apply

Schedule

Set up an appointment with a MedCerts Education Consultant. They will guide you on all the steps of the MyCAA application process.

Create

Open a MyCAA account. A real-time DEERS eligibility check will determine if you are eligible to establish an account. If so, you can open your account online.

Select

You and your Education Consultant will browse and pick the best programs you need to get certified in a high demand career.

    MedCerts helps spouses explore all career options with tools like career assessments, interest and skills inventories, portable career statistics, and earning potential metrics.

    Spouses work with MedCerts to create a plan of action that considers financial aid options, education and training program resources, credential information, and, for eligible spouses, MyCAA. MyCAA provides a maximum education benefit of $4,000.

  • Career readiness

    MedCerts helps spouses perfect their resumes and hone their interviewing skills. They also cover job search techniques, relocation planning, and flex-work options.
