MedCerts Pharmacy Technician Externship Program

Students participating in the MedCerts Pharmacy Technician programs receive a solid foundation of knowledge laid out through comprehensive online instruction. Our Pharmacy Technician Professional (ASHP/ACPE) program requires that students participate in an externship, while the Certified Pharmacy Technician Training program encourages participation, though it is optional.

The pharmacy externship serves as the capstone of the Learning Experience, allowing the student to apply what they have learned in a real-world environment. Students work under direct supervision of some of the best licensed Pharmacists and Technicians in the industry, where a “hands-on” learning approach is applied in order to gain an understanding of your responsibilities to the patient and their wellness, along with exposure to cutting edge technology.

The Pharmacy Externship is approximately 160 Hours in length, and is available through a nationwide agreement at Walgreens, which has over 8000 locations to choose from, as well as nationwide at CVS and other local participating pharmacy locations. This externship will give Pharmacy Technician students an edge when preparing for the PTCB exam, and will set our graduates apart within the job market!
