Dental Assistant Requirements by State

You can begin your journey to become a Dental Assistant through the Dental Assistant Online Training program at MedCerts. Our Dental Assistant program trains you for most entry-level Dental Assistant positions by preparing you for The Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam and Infection Control Examination (ICE) exam, which are the first steps in obtaining the Certified Dental Assistant certification.

Each state’s dental board implements regulations and establishes rules for delegating legally allowable duties to dental assistants. Passing one or more of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) component exams or earning DANB certification only conveys authority to perform these duties in those states that recognize these exams or this certification as meeting state dental assisting requirements.
